Oval cut diamonds are oval in shape and are the diamonds most like that of the round cut diamond. This particular cut features a flattering, longer outline that combined with the brilliance of a round cut diamond. Oval cut diamonds are almost exclusively used in engagement rings.

Oval cut diamonds has  a large surface area that gives the impression of a much bigger diamond, oval diamonds are favoured by women with smaller hands or shorter fingers because of the diamonds shape. Because it is a long stone, it gives the impression of an elongated hand length.
